Covid-19 FAQs

Please read before contacting us

We are currently receiving an extremely large number of calls and emails. Before contacting us, please read the below FAQs which should give you the information you will need. If you are unable to find the answer to your question please do email us on holidays@puffincottageholidays.co.uk.

What happens if there are widespread legal restrictions on travel in England, Wales or Scotland?

Please rest assured that if there are widespread restrictions on travel, or the legally enforced closure of self-catering holiday properties, in England, Scotland or Wales we will endeavour to move your holiday to a different date, free of any amendment fee (there would only be an extra payment amount if the dates your holiday was moved to was more expensive than your original date - likewise, if the holiday was moved to a less expensive week the difference would be refunded to you).

If, in this event, we are unable to move your booking to a suitable date we can offer a credit note or, if you would prefer, refund your holiday in full.

What happens if myself, or someone I am holidaying with tests positive for Covid-19 shortly before we are due to stay?

Please let us know as soon as possible if this happens. We will work with the owner to try and facilitate a change of dates for you, but this will be at the owner's discretion. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover you for this eventuality.

What happens if myself, or someone I am holidaying with tests positive for Covid-19 whilst we are at the property?

If you or a member of your party feels unwell with Covid-19 symptoms during your stay you should follow the relevant government advice. If you test positive for Covid-19 during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible. If you are confirmed to have Covid-19 during your stay you should return home if you can. Please ensure that when speaking to test and trace, or any other relevant authority, that you specifically tell them that you are staying in a holiday home. If you are advised by test and trace to remain at the property, we will work with the owner to facilitate this as best we can and you will be required to pay for any additional stay at the advertised rates.
