A Fantastic Evening at Catch Beach Club, Saundersfoot

After a busy Saturday checking in holiday guests at Puffin Cottage Holidays, we decided to treat ourselves to an evening at Catch Beach Club in Saundersfoot on the harbour.

Despite not having a reservation, we decided to try our luck and pop in. On arrival, every table appeared to be reserved, but owner Josh kindly managed to squeeze us in, which we were incredibly grateful for. We were warmly welcomed by Josh and Rhianwen, who took the time to explain the menu and talk us through the dishes on offer.

The concept at Catch is simple but incredibly effective. Fresh seafood takes centre stage, served tapas-style through a selection of small plates designed for sharing. With so many tempting options on the menu, choosing wasn’t easy.

For two people, we’d suggest ordering around four plates plus an extras dish, which proved to be the perfect amount for us. We opted for a selection of prawns, crispy pork belly, local seabass and burrata, accompanied by a few glasses of white wine and a bottled cider or two.

The standout dishes of the evening were undoubtedly the burrata and the prawns, although the locally sourced seabass ran them very close. Every dish was beautifully presented, packed with flavour and clearly prepared with great attention to detail.

One thing that particularly impressed us was learning that almost everything on the menu is made fresh in-house by Head Chef Charlie Cowgill-Pang, formerly Head Chef at The Old Point House in Angle. Combined with the regularly changing specials board, it means there’s always something new and exciting to try.

The setting itself is equally impressive. The stylish décor instantly gives you that holiday feeling, with a relaxed Mediterranean vibe that wouldn’t feel out of place in Spain or Greece. Sitting alongside the fishing boats as they come and go from the harbour creates a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere.

Although it was a busy Saturday evening in Saundersfoot, Catch somehow feels slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the village. That’s not taking anything away from the fantastic eateries already in Saundersfoot, but Catch offers something a little different and certainly adds another dimension to the village’s food scene.

Families will be pleased to know there’s a children’s menu available, while dog owners can bring their four-legged friends along too. The outdoor dining area, right beside the harbour and fishing boats, is a fantastic spot to enjoy an evening meal and watch the world go by.

After dinner, we took a stroll along the coast towards Wiseman’s Bridge before returning via the higher cliff path. The views across the coastline in the evening sunshine were simply stunning and rounded off a lovely evening perfectly.

Having only opened in October 2025, Catch Beach Club still feels like something of a hidden gem. However, judging by the quality of the food, service and setting, we have no doubt it’s going to become increasingly popular. Our advice would be to get a table booked while you still can before it becomes one of the toughest reservations to secure in Saundersfoot!

It was also great to spend some time chatting with Josh during the evening. We’re hopeful that Catch Beach Club may become a Puffin Rewards partner for the 2027 season, helping our guests enjoy even more fantastic local experiences during their stay. Watch this space!
