Autumn Beach Walks with Your Four-Legged Friends
Autumn is one of our favourite times of year for exploring Pembrokeshire's beaches with your canine companions.
From 1st October, seasonal restrictions on many of the area's popular beaches come to an end, making it easier to enjoy those wonderful stretches of sand together.
Take a stroll along Saundersfoot Beach, wander across Tenby South Beach or explore the beautiful coastline around Amroth and Coppet Hall. The quieter beaches, fresh sea air and spectacular autumn skies make for memorable walks.
Pembrokeshire has more than 50 beaches that welcome dogs, although some restrictions apply during the summer months at selected beaches. Why not check out our Dog Friendly Beaches blog for the latest information.
Please remember to keep your dog under control, clean up after them and take care around cliffs, strong winds and incoming tides.
And, of course, if you are bringing your four-legged family member along, Puffin Cottage Holidays has a lovely selection of pet-friendly cottages to choose from!
Enjoy the Coastal Path and Autumn Colours
You don't need to plan a big day out to enjoy Pembrokeshire in autumn. Sometimes, the simplest pleasures are the best.
Follow the coastal path from Saundersfoot towards Coppet Hall and Wisemans Bridge, enjoy the changing colours of the woodland or take a leisurely walk around Tenby's historic town walls.
For a longer adventure, explore sections of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, where dramatic cliffs, sweeping sea views and hidden coves await.
Autumn can bring changeable weather, so pack a waterproof coat, wear suitable footwear and check the forecast and tide times before setting off.
Then return to your holiday accommodation, put your feet up and enjoy a well-earned rest.
